CONTRACT HISTORY TO 2003

Current Contract: Customer Project Manager, XXXXXXX Service, March 2002 to date

Classic Customer Project Management Role, working with XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX to implement the XXXXXXX Service (Integrated digital radio and messaging service) as part of a nationwide XXXXXXX sponsored programme.

Programme Manager, Infonet / AT&T Unisource, Sept 2000 to Sept 2001

I implemented a pioneering GPRS (2.5G) Service Development (Mobile Internet Roaming Network); the first joint Marketing initiative between the legacy Infonet and AUCS organisations. I put together an international project team and designed and agreed new ways of working across the two legacy organisations. We worked with partner organisations such as Comfone (Swiss mobile roaming broker) to deliver our project successfully and on time. In addition to this, I actively participated in designing a Wireless Marketing strategy for the new merged organisation, working with suppliers of Internet Applications, Content, Infrastructure and Devices to create a Mobile Internet strategy and turn it into further development projects.

Customer Project Manager, Nortel Networks, April 2000 to July 2000

When Nortel acquired a very large amount of new business from their strategic partner, Level(3), I came in as an agent of change to work between the Level(3) and Nortel organisations, scoping out and setting up the following three projects:

I agreed implementation plans with the delivery teams, carried out risk assessments and took the projects up to commissioning before handing them over to Technical Project Managers for integration.

Senior Business Analyst/ Consultant, BT Cellnet June 1999 to Apr 2000

My objective was to assess and manage the impact of new technology (SDH and soft-switching) on the existing organisation and processes. I worked with operational users at all levels to document existing processes and design new ones and to redesign the organisation in response to the changes. I used the ARIS tool to produce process models which I turned into HTML on the Intranet. Once I had gained acceptance for web-based process documents, I secured web-designer resource for a full Intranet process-model. While redesigning processes, I identified further requirements for new IT systems and wrote business cases for senior management to approve. My sphere of activity covered:

  • Provisioning
  • Service Restoration
  • Fault Management
  • Cross Charging
  • Performance Management
  • New Field-work Practices

Project Manager, PricewaterhouseCoopers, 17/11/98 to 30/4/99

Price-Waterhouse joined forces with Coopers & Lybrand in 1998. My role was to project manage this organisational change in areas affecting staff terms & conditions, with the objective of retaining skilled staff. My particular focus was in setting up the new, joint outsource of the company car scheme with Arriva PLC, but I also worked in the wider area of the flexible remuneration package My responsibilities included:
  • Change management during the transition
  • Peoplesoft IT interface & Payroll Interface
  • New Processes within both Arriva and PwC
  • Intranet Web-site Set-up
  • Managing transfer of 'old to new' outsource
  • Contracts and pricing
I was responsible for project definition, risk analysis, planning and communications with internal managers and external suppliers. We also set up an Intranet Web site and a call-centre to deal with staff queries. Less formally, I focussed on understanding key people, their objectives, their relationships, the organisational context and the interplay of constraints, and applying this understanding to deliver tangible results.
